Below is a list of community project ideas that you may choose to implement or perhaps may inspire a new idea. Try any of them that fit your ability, time, resources, and specific community needs. Let us know if you have one to share!

Help with Food

  • Bring a basket of food to shut-ins or needy families
  • Make healthy bagged meals to distribute to the homeless
  • On car trips, pack a bag of canned goods to distribute as needed
  • Distribute water in places where sources are contaminated
  • Bring non-perishable foods and supplies to disaster victims
  • Bake healthy snacks to deliver to shelters
  • Help nursing home patients at meal time
  • Volunteer at a food pantry or soup kitchen
  • Start a mobile soup kitchen

Help with Necessities

  • Provide coats, socks, scarves, gloves, shoes, or other clothing items for warmth and weather-protection to any as needed
  • Distribute blankets to the homeless, in need, or hospitalized…you can purchase at thrift stores or easily make to be more personal
  • Collect personal care items for shelters, those in need, or military

General Community Outreach

  • Pray with individuals as encountered throughout community
  • Pass out Bibles or other supportive literature
  • Start a community garden
  • Adopt a road for cleaning and praying over
  • Collect items needed by local charities, churches, and shelters
  • Offer free windshield cleanings or car washes
  • Clear driveways or sidewalks of snow, leaves, litter, or debris
  • Conduct a study, class, or healthy living discussion at the local library
  • Provide tutoring services or help someone learn to read
  • Offer to walk patrons to their car under an umbrella on a rainy day
